Just after the ‘Durga Puja’ there comes ‘Lakshmi Puja’. It’s a worship of Goddess ‘Lakshmi’…she is the goddess of prosperity and of wealth… People of India does this Puja to bring the prosperity and wealth for their family…and it is believed that if the puja is done with faith and respect then surely Devi bless the family…in entire this puja is been followed by many state and casts… this puja mainly belongs to the Hindu s… in West Bengal this puja is also done with faith and hope by practicing so many rituals… here this puja is known as Kojagori Lakshmi Puja… coz this puja is mainly done in the day of Full moon…which is called as ‘Purnima’.
Lakshmi Puja is done in common houses mainly and is been worshipped by the priests but sometimes it is organized by different clubs of some localities… this puja continues for only one day… one of the main ritual that is been done is ‘Aripata’…and the ‘Mangal Ghat’ is placed infront of Devi’s idol… here the Bengali wives use paddy and paddy – grains in the puja… ‘alpana’ or ‘fulkari’ is made in front of the entrance of the house and of other doors within the house… as a deity to the goddess different types of fruits are given and beside this ‘Bhog’ is also made mainly with the ingredients…are: rice and pulses… and several types of ‘Bhaja’ are also made… these are the fried vegetables… followed by sweets and curds. People visits to their near and dear ones houses to offer their prayers…
This puja is been enjoyed by the people of India and all these brings happiness and joy to the entire country one after another …till the time of New Year. This is what India is…
